Direct human forcing: National historical GDP data for ISIMIP3a in the period 1965-2021.
Time series of per-capita GDP for the time period 1965-2020 are taken from the World Bank’s World Development Indicator database (WDI) and converted into constant 2005 Int$PPP, using deflators and PPP conversion factors from WDI. For countries not covered in the WDI database, data from the MissingIslands dataset (gathering data from various sources, e.g., CIA World Factbook, Insee, BEA, PRISM, and Woldometers) is used to allow covering 249 countries. Following a method developed by Koch and Leimbach (2022), the value for the year 2021 is derived from the IMF's World Economic Outlook short-term estimates of GDP per capita growth (WEO, 2021) that comprise estimates of the growth impacts of the Covid-19 shock.

Data was retracted from the ISIMIP repository in June 9, 2022 due to an unintended smoothing in the annual fluctuations and an error in the processing pipeline. A remedy is underway.
